Heavy Metal Band from London, England. Formed in 1987, disband in 2001, then reformed in 2008.Chop pitman Guitarist and Tony Hatton Bass Player Played together for yrs in a band called E.L-34 But disbanded in around 1989
Chop is a very good friend of Steve Harris ( Iron Maiden ) and mentioned that he was looking for a Drummer to form a new Band
along with Tony Hatton Steve Harris introduced Chop to Former iron maiden Drummer Doug Sampson Steve Harris Dragged
Doug Sampson to the studio ... Chop Pitman .. Steve Harris and Doug Sampson had a jamming session. Doug Sampson then
decided to join Chop Pitman and Tony Hatton with the idea of forming the Band Airforce ..This is how Airforce was Born
The Band played together gigging for over 11 yrs with various Vocalists We then decided to go separate ways on other projects -
Chop Pitman carried on with the Band Name Airforce with various members And in 2010 met up with vocalist Dilian Arnaudov
through a friend and asked him to stand in on a gig as our Vocalist at the time had Family issues and had to fly home
Dilian and Chop stayed in touch and were talking about future plans and working together again at some point
In 2015 Airforce was Contacted by watchout Records was asked if we would supply a track for the Origins of Iron cd
which featured all ex maiden members Airforce then released a Compilation Album ( Judgement Day ) in 2016 which stirred
a lot of interest Doug Sampson and Tony Hatton came to the launch party and at that point It was collectively decided to get
the original Band back together After they auditioned Dilian Arnaudov, the missing piece of the puzzle was found - The man
who will now be fronting the band. Since then Dilian and the Band are at Full strength writing and performing new material
and some older classic Airforce tracks.
Airforce with the new line up have been gigging in England and other parts of Europe since 2016
They have just released a two part E.P The Black Box Recordings part 1
Part 2 is being recorded at the moment and plan to be released in December along with new Album July 201
In 2018/19 they discovered Flávio Lino, a Portuguese singer, who they immediately hired as the new frontman.
Strike Hard, is the new album for 2020, which features the ex iron Maiden singer Paul Dianno.
