Bassist and synthesizer. Suki was born in the former Portuguese colony of Macau, the daughter of a Burmese electronic engineer father and a half-Japanese, half-Chinese mother, where she studied piano. Traveling to the UK, she was exposed to electronic music, particularly things like the cosmic sound of Laurie Spiegel, and the alternative rock references of her partners in Novella. After moving to the Peak District, Suki set up a home studio and started using Buchla, Moog modular systems and rare analogue systems such as the ARP 2500, ARP 2600 and Serge, Synthi from Willem Twee Studio in the Netherlands – which helped to develop his its sensory sound.
