Jay Hamburger
American songwriter.

Hamburger wrote the lyrics to “By My Side” with fellow CMU student Peggy Gordon writing the music. It was the only song that survived the re-scoring of the 1971 Off-Broadway cast of Godspell by Stephen Schwartz. Gordon later sang the song in the musical production, with Gilmer McCormick providing harmonic vocals.
