Jan Glæsel

Real name: Jan Juel Glæsel

Danish trumpet player, composer, arranger, and band leader, born in Frederiksberg, Copenhagen (1958). Learned to play trumpet as a child in Tivoli-Garden. Member of Swingpower in the late 1970's before joining the Thad Jones Eclipse as 2nd trumpet player. Joined Anne Linnet Band in 1981 and co-penned signature song "Det Er Ikke Det Du Siger" on their debut album. Gained public attention from 1983 as band leader in numerous TV shows on DR, the Danish national broadcasting company. In 1997, he arranged and conducted Denmark's Eurovision Song Contest entry 'Stemmen i mit liv'. Established own production company JGMusik in 1985. Released solo album Whole In One in 1993.
