Copenhagen based pop/rock group formed 1986. A gender mixed band Miss B. Haven-guitarist Anne Vig Skoven was a member the fist two years. Competent musicians deriving from both new wave and from the, at the time, more dominant rock scene, Singing Zoo was hailed as the band of the year at the legendary Copenhagen club, Musikcaféen in 1987 winning the prestigious Årets John-prize. Their debut album was released to critical acclaim two years later, but the band never truly overcame the prejudices prevailing in both alternative and more traditional rock circles - despite songwriting abilities and a small,, but devoted fan base. Singing Zoo broke up 1994.
