Grupo Sabotaje

Effective period / Period of releases: 1982

Orquesta Sabotaje (aka Grupo Sabotaje) was a tropical musical group originating from the city of Chiclayo (Peru), led by businessman and arranger Willie Chaname, pianist Francisco "Paquito" Bances and singer Lalo "El Negro" Gumez, with the guidance and participation of musician and singer Pancho Acosta.

After achieving international success with their debut 45 RPM single "Vuelve a Mí" (Music Shop S.A., Peru), in 1982 they released their first (and only) full-length LP entitled Arrollando, which became a collector's item due to the high quality, authenticity and diversity of the tunes and the scarcity of the vinyl. They were very famous in Colombia and earned the love of the salsa dancers and collectors of Cali. It should be noted that Sabotaje was the precursor to the current tropical group "Los Continentales" that is still playing in the north of Peru.
