Porch Cat is a queer, feminist, power-pop dream-punk band. Chan Barraza (bass/vox), Emily Ayden (guitar/drums/vox).
Porch Cat is the musical project of singer-songwriter, Chan Barraza. Through uptempo punk songs, sludgy ballads, and pop hooks, Porch Cat writes about queer identity, pain and chronic illness, abuse and assault, colonization and racism - ultimately returning to themes of love and empowerment.
As a queer, nonbinary, disabled and chronically ill Mexican-American, Porch Cat strives to push the boundaries of representation in music, as well as fight for feminism, queer rights, disability rights, and against racism.
