As a composer/performer Demian Rufus aka Mike Richard's scores are currently presented not as files or traditional paper scores, but as philosophical prose texts on screen, proposing to construct different experimental kinds of audio-visual ecologies and cinematic, architectural reading experiences and atmospheres for live music events, conferences/camps, and mental/social/environmental ecologies. the transdisciplinary potential for drone music and text.

Born in Southern California in 1967, and then living in Los Angeles area, Bay Area, Wash Dc, and now based in Portland, Oregon, as a musician, he has performed on piano, keyboard, synth, gong, and is a vocal-artist. he studied music composition at calarts in 1986-87 first with Rand Steiger and then from 2001-2005 with Michael Pisaro.
