American country singer/songwriter and sister of Earl Montgomery and Carl Montgomery, Born October 10, 1938 in Iron City, Tennessee.
Six of Melba's written or co-written songs charted, including "We Must Have Been Out of Our Minds" sung by her and George Jones, making it to #3 on the U.S. Country chart in 1963 and "What Do You Say to That" by George Strait (co-written by Jim Lauderdale), which hit #4 on the same chart in1999. She and George Jones as a duo charted seven times on the country charts. She and Charlie Louvin as a duo also charted six times on the country charts, including "Something to Brag About" which hit #18 in 1970. BMI IPI #: 21324046.
