Veroníque Vaka

Veroníque Vaka is a cellist and composer from Montreal, Canada, based in Iceland. She studied electro-acoustic composition at the University of Montreal. In 2012 Veroníque received a grant from the Canada Council of the Arts for a mentorship in instrumental and electronic music in Iceland. During her stay in Iceland she composed and recorded her first EP called Tveir heimar ("Two Worlds"). Alongside her personal projects, Vaka composed scores for Seltjarnarnes Sinfóníuhljómsveit Áhugamanna's orchestra, Ensemble Paramirabo and Icelandic's Duo Harpverk in 2013-1014. Meanwhile, Veroníque Vaka composed soundtracks for film, theater and taken part in many collaborations, both as a performer and composer, with different artists and bands such as Oskar Schuster, Hannes Smith, Paul Valentin, Orla Wren, M-Band, Futuregrapher, etc.
