Runner is a hard rock/heavy metal band from Chicago, Illinois, USA, that was formed in 1985. In 1986, the band changed its name to Desire. The band split up around 1987/1988.

The band recorded an album in 1987 that remained unreleased until 1991. Curiously this album was released under Runner moniker, that had been dropped in 1986, and not under the Desire moniker, that the band had used, when the musicians entered the recording studio.
