Rosa Apátrida

Real name: Rosa Apátrida

Members: Nico Roxe

Rosa Apatrida is a trilingual Anarcho-Darkwave band based in New York City. The name translates as 'Stateless Rose' and clearly expresses anarchist politics. This band's unique sound came thanks to a mix of minimal punk structures of their songs and the fact that they only recorded and played with analog synthesizers. Their first show was in the winter of January 8th fo 2009, in Brooklyn, NY; as they used to say: "This type of rose flourishes only once during the coolest day of winter." Their first release was a single called 'Heart Of Darkness' (2011); afterward, they released a demo called "Winter Demo" (2013), and subsequentially a limited edition tape called "Antifascist Darkwave" (2015), which included a video of the song "Free My Body." It is not clear if the band still plays; they played a show 2019 in Brooklyn under the abreviation 'ROSAA', what is true is that their members started their own projects. Elektra KB and Nico Roxe with a duo called 'Cíborg Commune', and Jamie Weiss with solo project called 'Strucktura'.
