(born August 26, 1913 in Hausen in Bad Kissingen, † July 24, 1976 in Munich) was Bishop of Würzburg and Berlin and Archbishop of Munich and Freising and from 1958 Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church. He became one of the "most influential figures of the Catholic Church" during the Second Vatican Council from 1962 to 1965.
