USA, Indiana’s Diplomatics, a high school ensemble who only released one 45 on Herb Miller’s Lamp imprint.
The Diplomatics were a 9 piece high school band formed in 1964 whose members included Rodney Stepp and Miles 'Butch' Loyd (bass) (who co-wrote the song), Bobby Gayhart (drums & backing vocals), Lonnie Williams (guitar), Bill Simmons (sax), Phil Brown (sax), Pheldon Majors (trombone), Gabe Gaschaw (trumpet) and Michael Scott (trumpet).
Jazzie Cazzie And The Eight Sounds ‎evolved from The Diplomatics.
