Istanbul String Quartet is formed by Seda Subaşı, Dolunay Erten, Deniz Yücel and Şafak Erişkin Sökmen at 1992. With the efforts of Piero Farulli, Italian Quartet violist. Important progress have been made on behalf of the perfection of Istanbul Quartet. Istanbul Quartet have been accepted to the master-class programme of “Accademia Musicale Chigiana” with scholarship where they have graduated with an honour diploma. Due to their success in Italy, they have been invited to “Scuola di Musica di Fiesole” to improve their musical interpretetion and technical merits, and they have completed their course in 1997. Istanbul Quarted have performed many concerts abroad and in Turkey, and have made many radio and television records. With a rich quartet music repertoire and the positive comments of music authorities, Istanbul Quartet owns a remarkable place in Turkish chamber music.
