Musician and songwriter born in Austin, Texas, best known as bassist for the Go-Go's, whom she parted ways with in 2013. In 2018, Valentine re-joined her bandmates and began performing on tour once again. She currently lives in Austin.
In the late 1970s, she formed Austin punk band The Violators alongside Carla Olson, Jesse Sublett and Marilyn Dean. She moved to Los Angeles in 1978 and co-founded The Textones. She left The Textones in 1980 and joined The Go-Gos.
