Fluid Japan is an alternative electronic band originally formed in Japan by Todd Lewis (vocals, bass, synthesizer, programming), Walt Wistrand (aka James Lord, Ian Ilarion) (guitar, synthesizer, bass, programming, vocals), and Ryuichi Fujino (synthesizer, programming, voice). The trio bonded over a love of YMO, the Chameleons U.K., and the Cocteau Twins. Active in the flourishing Tokyo indie music scene of the 90s, Fluid Japan is now primarily based in the U.S. and includes Heather Heimbuch (vocals), Greg Moreau (guitar, synthesizer, bass, programming), and Reiko Minamikawa (piano, vocals). Their members and musical collaborators are located around the globe, including the United States, Japan, Hong Kong, England, and Australia.
