American singer.
Born c.1936/7 in South Carolina.
She first came to attention performing in clubs in Washington, D.C. then rose to greater fame performing in Europe.
She recorded album "Duke Calls the Tune", an album mostly composed by Duke Ellington in 1957.
She had an on/off affair with Diana Dors ex-husband Dennis Hamilton, who died before they married. After her heartbreak, she returned to Washington, D.C. and took a $50-a-week job as a cashier in a clothing store to support herself. She later returned to performing again in the Washington D.C. club scene.
