American singer, producer, and record label owner.
Born: c.1934 Bridgeport, Connecticut.
He was a POW in Korea, a judo instructor, dish washer, hospital orderly, garbage truck driver, semi-pro football player, professional boxer, and matre'd--to name just a few of his professions. He didn't begin to think about music as a career until the late 1940's when he met actor Clay Cole. Lionel Hampton heard him sing and signed him to his Glad-Hamp Records label.
He helped start Elegant Records, Inc. in 1967.
