Shirley Kay Angel was just 10 years old when she started her professional singing career in 1970. From Eltham, Taranaki, New Zealand, she released three solo singles from 1970 to 1972. Shirley later married fellow Eltham lad Geith Pickford (from local rock band Uncle Funky) and formed a duo called Shiner who played the NZ pub circuit in the 80's. A return to the band scene happened in the early 1990s with a new band called Tickled Pink. Shirley & Geith Pickford were last known living in the Coromandel area in the 2000's as the owners of Pinky's Bargains in Whitianga.
