Cotton And Morpheus

Effective period / Period of releases: 1928

Members: Phil Cook (5)

American minstrel comedy routine, active between 1928 and 1930.

The Sealy Air Weavers radio program followed the adventures of two African-American characters, Morpheus and Cotton, voiced by Phil Cook (5) and John Mitchell in black-face, as they traveled cross-country with their radio set looking for work at various Sealy Mattress factories. At regular intervals during each week's journey, the two switched on their receiver, which they affectionately called "Hector," to tune in different musical selections by the show's eponymous orchestra, the Sealy Air Weavers.

Cotton and Morpheus recorded 15 titles for the Brunswick label between June 1928 and October 1930.
