Chico Marx And His Orchestra

Members: Mel Tormé, Barney Kessel, John Frigo, George Wettling, Marty Napoleon, Ben Pollack, Skip Nelson, Gabriel Gelinas, Marty Marsala, Johnny Austin, Ziggy Lane, Chico Marx, Kim Kimberly, Bobby Clark (2), Elisse Cooper, Paul Villepigue, Hank Kmen, Vernon Yocum

Short-lived big band orchestra established in 1942 by Chico Marx and Ben Pollack.
Mainly focusing on stage shows, the orchestra released two records with The Hit Record in June, 1942.

The orchestra consisted of 16-man band and a vocal group, the lineup changed sporadically during its existence.
In the fall of 1942, a 17-year old Mel Tormé joined the group as a singer and vocal arranger.

The group eventually disbanded in July of 1943.
