A Written Apology was a Metalcore band from Dundee, Scotland, that formed in late 2003 and split up in July 2006. The band was influenced by the likes of Heartscarved, Darkest Hour, Angels Never Answer, Still Remains, Poison the Well and early UnderOATH (pre-MTV2), with Heartscarved proving to have a particularly strong effect on the group's sound, which sought to combine melodic, harmonised riffage with a heavy, metal based backbone, along with clean, melodic passages.

A Written Apology recorded two EPs during their existence; a Self- Titled 4-tracker debut in June 2004, and "I Am The Wolf", a three- track follow-up in spring 2006.
