Famous romanian tenor in Europe for his exceptional career.
Studied with Ion Vidu. During the First World War was artillery officer in the Austro-Hungarian army.
Made his debut in Cluj as Pinkerton in “Madama Butterfly'”.
1922 - made a sensational debut at the Viennese Volksoper, where sang there until 1923.
He successfully went on tour to Berlin 1923-25, and Prague (1924).
1926 - made a successful debut at the Vienna Staatsoper as Rodolfo with Lotte Lehmann.
One night, while boarding a train for a concert date in Berlin, was shot and killed by his wife in a fit of jealous rage. His career reached the top when he was asked to concert at Metropolitan Opera in New York in 1927.
