Memphis, TN based pop / rock 'n' roll band formed in late 1963. Members included Ronnie Jordan (vocals), Danny Smythe (drums), Russ Caccamisi (bass), Richard Malone (guitar). Jordan left the band on October 1966 and the band, still calling themselves The Devilles, brought in Alex Chilton on vocals. This late incarnation of the band went on to record The Letter before the departure of Malone and Caccamisi and name change to Box Tops.
