Jiska Huizing is a Dutch artist, musician and DJ living and working in Oslo. Sound plays an important part in their different practices, with a specific interest in field recordings and place. Their approach to creating music and DJ-ing is heavily shaped by ideas about sound that come from their artistic practice. Huizing’s DJ-sets combine a broad spectrum of genres, in which obscure club music, leftfield techno and polyrhythms are important. They like to make surprising connections that invite you to open up your ears and your feet to move. Together with Julie Silset, Huizing forms the duo JIJU, who DJ together and released their first remix, which appears on ‘IDE003’. They have also released 2 records together with Rudi Valdersnes on Ideophone Records in 2018 and 2019.
