The Suburbans

Effective period / Period of releases: 1963

The Suburbans recorded Mary Had A Little Lamb / Walk Beside Me as a one-time session for Shelley in 1963. The single was produced by the now legendary Jerry "Swamp Dogg" Williams - then a little-known recording artist/producer from Philadelphia. According to Jerry, the lead of the Suburbans was Ricky Cordo who fronted The Versatiles (6) on Lundee Dundee / Whisper In Your Ear in 1960 and The Majors on A Wonderful Dream / Time Will Tell in 1962. The group were not apparently related to other Suburban groups who recorded on labels such as Baton Records, Flamingo Records, Gee, Kip, and Port Records.
