Country and Western musician (fiddle, guitar, mandolin), Terry was the son of Laverne and Louise Morris and brother of Kenneth and Dale Morris who were also Country and Western musicians. Terry started playing guitar when he was four, and took up the fiddle in 1971. Within two years, he began winning competitions. He was named Grand Master Fiddle Champion at Nashville in 1976, and was Texas State Fiddle Champion seven times, including three consecutive wins in 1985, 1986, and 1987.

At the time of his death, Terry was a member of the Bar D Wranglers of Durango, Colorado which he had joined in 1979.
