Allan was born in Gore,New Zealand and with his love of music became an accomplished musician by the age of fourteen. HMV/EMI NZ became aware of his talent in the early 60's and began recording piano albums and also albums with his Accordion Band. He recording almost 20 albums in total with many of these achieving 'gold' status.
