Christopher Leyva (born March 31, 1980) is a Mexican-American musician, producer, composer and promoter active since 1998 recognized by the academy of recording arts "Grammy Academy" for his career and prolific songwriting. [1] Founder of the recording label and management/promotions group, Black Cherry Music Group, as a musician Leyva is a multiple San Diego Music Awards nominee and has recorded solo as well as with numerous groups including Blizzard,Revolution 89' produced by Phil Solemn from The Rembrandts, [2] The Dead 67's and The Falling Doves. Though a longtime mainstay of San Diego’s music scene, Chris Leyva was actually born in a small town outside of Oaxaca, Mexico. He arrived in San Diego as an eight-year-old. An insatiable music fan, Leyva was soon hooked on the idea of rock’n’roll.
