Jos Bouchard

Real name: Joseph-Albert Bouchard

Effective period / Period of releases: 1975

Canadian fiddler born in Pointe-Au-Pic on May 6, 1905 and died on Île D'Orléans on June 12, 1979. Grand master of the "vrai jeu du Québec" and child prodigy (he began his career at the age of 12), he would have had only one master, Elie Sioué, an Amerindian of the Réserve De l'Ancienne-Lorette. Like most of our great fiddlers, he was unable to make a living from his music and had to hold a position at Canadian National for 32 years. He remains a reference for his style and sensitivity.
