Reality was founded in 1970 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, by 8 musicians from Surinam, Curacao and Aruba. They released their first, untitled album in 1972 on Blue Elephant. Their second, also untitled album was released in 1973 on Sound Records as Tony And Reality. In 1973, lead singer Tony Sherman went solo and Reality changed their name to Solat, teaming up with singer Billy Jones. Solat released a couple of singles and recorded with Hans Dulfer as Dulfer & Perikels.
