d.: March 03, 1958

Violinist, pianist, bandleader and composer of the early 1900's, likely creating under several aliases (e.g., Fred W. Hager, Fred Hager, Frederick Hager...)

Hager played the violin from age 8. He studied the violin with Prof. F. Hermann and and spend some time at the National Conservatory of America. He continued his violin studies with Carl Heuser in New York City. At age 21, he procured a contract for his band, Hager's American Military Band of New York City, to play in New York's public parks.
