Death / thrash metal band from Oakland, USA.
Originally playing progressive death metal, the band was formed in the early 90's by Christopher Stolle and Dave Couch. At the beginning the band was called Existence, changed later to Thanatopsis.
They released a few demos before calling it quits at the end of 90's. Thanatopsis reunited in 2004 for some gigs, then split up again.
Since ca. 2012 the band is active again.
