Ruby Fruit Jungle were James Lenton, Steve Robson and Danny Greenard, a British boy band active between 1992-93. Their name was adapted from the controversial 1973 novel, 'Rubyfruit Jungle' by Rita Mae Brown. The phrase itself is a nickname for the female reproductive organ. The trio released three unsuccessful singles on Tattoo Records, the pop label started by Steve Jolley, one half of the successful songwriting partnership Jolley & Swain (Imagination, Spandau Ballet, Bananarama, Alison Moyet).
