Eskaton is a French progressive rock/Zeuhl band. Founded in Paris, Île-de-France, France in 1970. Disbanded in 1985. Reformed in 2011.One of the first internationally successful bands of the Zeuhl genre during the French indie boom in the late 1970's. Eskaton took Magma (6) "Kohntarkosz" influences, mixed in prog, lots of electronics and increasingly elements of "punky" cold wave. This unique concoction, fronted by two female vocalists, made for a distinctive sound that has remained fresh and vital.
