The Chantones

Canadian group from Windsor, Ontario founded in 1957. Their greatest claim to fame came when they backed Jack Scott on several recordings, which lead to a #1 hit called "My True Love". This was followed up with several more hits including "Goodbye Baby", "The Way I Walk", "What In The World's Come Over You", "Geraldine", "It Only Happened Yesterday", and "Burning Bridges". The Chantones recorded over 150 songs with Jack Scott, including the album, "Save My Soul", a collection of gospel songs.
The vocal version of the group consisted of Jack Grenier, lead; Larry Desjarlais, tenor; Jim Nantais, baritone; and Roy Lesperance, bass.
The instrumental version of the group consisted of Jack Grenier, banjo; Larry Desjarlais, guitar; Jim Nantais, bass.
