A Bunny’s Caravan is a progressive emo band made up of Erlend Draget and Jan-Arild Johansen alongside members from the band Desperado and Dominic. These brave musicians entered the recording studio in 2006 without ever having previously rehearsed, recorded their 47 minute album then disbanded before performing a single concert. Now if that hasn’t gotten your hipster senses tingling yet, combine this phantasmal formation and deconstruction with the group’s Swedish origins and you’ve got yourself a fixed wheel cruising, jort sporting, moustache touting, underground “success”. But this is all beside the point. The purpose of this review is to highlight A Bunny’s Caravan brilliant interpretation of the post rock and emo genres, bringing raucous chorus’s in line with haunting guitars and electronic interludes; piecing together a sonic landscape which both overwhelms and moves you.
