Successfully mixing modern folk lyricism with straight-ahead pop/rock arrangements and an Americana sensibility, Stephanie Brickey has come up with a distinct sound of her own. She calls on her diverse musical influences to embellish the traditional folk song and to keep the crowd moving with timeless, stand-out rock performances. Brickey has the ability to grind out a crowd-pleasing, high-octane rocker and then follow it with an irresistible lullaby so hauntingly beautiful it may leave you in tears. Brickey’s vocals complement the songs in a way that seems to accentuate the instrumental accompaniment rather than overshadow it, with a voice that’s somewhere between Margo Timmins and Linda Thompson.
Brickey has been highly visible on the St. Louis music scene for some time performing as solo artist, as a member of SLIM (along with Lynn Reif and Mary Alice Wood) and as the frontperson for A Room Away.
Stephanie Brickey’s sound is infectious and unique. Her songs are timeless, smart and alluring.
