Yosvany «Angel Yos» Quiros
Cuban singer, born in Havana, Cuba in 1979.
Yosvany graduated in 1995 from the EVA (Escuela Vocacional de Arte) in Havana. He was a pupil of Gustavo Galan (1st tenor of the Havana Opera) and followed a minor percussion training. At the age of 11, he participated with the EVA orchestra in concerts by Pablo Milanés and Silvio Rodríguez. He also made several tours in Cuba with the rumba formation "Los Tambores De Bejucal", a formation in which his father, Miguel Angel, played as a percussionist.
After graduating, Yosvany became a founding member of Baculeye and La Dynastia and recorded his first single with La Dynastia. He shared the stage with the groups Bamboleo, Paulito F.G. and ends up joining La Charanga Forever.
In 2000, he was hired to promote the Yanza project during a European tour and released his first album in France on this occasion: "Nuevo Rumbo" with Johnny Aldama.
Yosvany moved to Paris and joined the Bomba Cubana group. He shared the stage with the groups Africando, Kassav', Sergent Garcia and sang solo with Mustafa and Aquim (Zebda "motivés"), Carlos de Nicaragua and Sampling at the Moissac Festival in 2000. Founding member of the timba group La Tormenta Cubana in 2000, he joined the group Azúcar Salsa de Paris in 2001, then the group Tempo Forte, for which he recorded the album "Canto De Mi Tierra", followed by the album "Ya Nos Veremos" in 2006. With the group Tempo Forte, Yosvany shared the stage with the Brazilian singer Tania Maria.
In 2003, he also participated in the Ya'ki show for which he recorded two albums: "Ya'ki" and "Iankota".
In 2007, he decided to create his own timba formation: Fiesta Cubana and founded the reggaeton group GAN P with percussionist Alvaro Lopez. He was also a singer in the group of Venezuelan trumpet player Ramon Pontilla D'Laye, he recorded the album "Vida" and also accompanied the orchestra of Miguel Gomez.
Yosvany has singed at the Ecole de Musiques Latino Américaine in Toulouse, at the Ara in Lille and at the Isaac (Institut des Arts Afro-Cubains) in Paris. He was also a speaker for singing courses (ARPEJ, Festival Tempo Latino de Vic Fezensac) and participates in the realization of Afro-Cuban music methods.
Yosvany created in 2011 the group of salsa, merengue, latin house-electro, hip-hop, reggaeton and ragga fusion "Cuban M.O.B" with Erik Rodriguez and JDL.
