He was a Brazilian radio host, singer, accordionist and composer. He was also known as Zé Béttio, he was considered one of the biggest names on Brazilian radio, he was very successful in the 70s to the 1980s.

He immortalized several popular catchphrases, such as ''Wake up, throw water on him!'', and launched important names in music country music, like Milionário & José Rico. Zé Bettio retired in 2009, from Rádio Record. And in 2016 he suffered a stroke. After his retirement, Zé Béttio spent the last years of his life in seclusion on his farm, in the interior of São Paulo. He was born on January 2, 1926 in Promissão (SP), and died on August 27, 2018, at the age of 92, while sleeping, he was buried in the capital of São Paulo.
