FIRE... a brief history!
Old school proto Metal from Hamburg, Germany

Those who have seen a lot, keep in focus what‘s important. For FIRE from Hamburg, Germany only two things remain significant: their music and their own style.

„We gave up on becoming rock stars. We‘d rather just play what we love, and that is heavy music“, the four-piece states. „We don’t need to fit into any category, so we do what we please with no need to limit ourselves. Since we are not stressed about anymore to become rockstars, we can compose without boundaries. If this leads to 10 minute epics that satisfy us, so shall be it. If people like these songs as well, perfect!“

So the attitude is there, and is the music: „At the end of the day it’s old school metal with many, many influences we added to our musical DNA over the years. Our style is clearly a mix of our four personalities and musical preferences. We clearly differ and our likes include a wide range of music. Classic rock and metal, progressive rock, Peter Gabriel, Judas Priest and Frank Zappa. We all can agree on Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden and Motörhead though.“

Some of the musicians in FIRE already left their mark in the loud history of their hometown: Guitarist Schrörg played with Hamburg prog thrashers Megace in 90s and power metallers Xandril in 80s. Bassist Higgi is part of the Iron Maiden tribute band Powerslave.
It‘s these two veterans that have been the core of FIRE since 2003.

The origins of vocalist Klamsi however can be found in the underground scene of German-language Rock, aka „Deutsch Rock“, but it took FIRE for him to live out what he really wants to do. Now he can finally sing in a style that has been closer to his heart for a long time.

Drummer Meik is not only the heartbeat of the band, but also recordings and mixing all tracks over the last years.

The FIRE story started as those stories have to start: with an early demo and some gigs to get going. And some cool gigs they were, be it with Volbeat, Brainstorm or at Germany‘s Metal Bash festival. Several contributions to tribute compilations for Angel Witch, W.A.S.P. and Lake of Tears followed.

The first official release for these veterans from a city with a long-standing history in Metal was the 7“ vinyl single ‘Save me‘‘. Limited to 333 units only, the single is nearly sold out now. It was 150 black, 150 red and 33 white vinyls, from which a total of less than 20 are left in stock in August 2019. The cover was designed explicitly for this collectable release by Costin Chioreanu, who is known for his work for At The Gates, Paradise Lost and Primordial and many more.

Costin also designed an outstanding cover artwork for the new follow up, the ‘Walking on bones’ 10” vinyl, released on August 16th 2019. This might be a long single or a short EP... 2 epic tracks with a total playing time of 17:28 minutes.
Including download code, lyrics sheet, lots of photos and an anti-static inner sleeve.
The mastering was done by Timo Höcke (Mantar and others) at die Wellenschmiede, Hamburg.

The cover print features a special spot varnish, which gives the bands cover hero ‘John Doe’ on the cover a glossy 3d effect.

The 10“ is available in 3 vinyl colors:
200 in black, 100 in clear and 200 in green/white splattered.
