German composer (born 26 August 1954, Viersen, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany). His oeuvre encompasses texted and instrumental compostions, solo and chamber music works, ensemble and orchestra works and can be divided into three creative phases whose borders are marked in 1984/85 by the fruits of his studies with Iannis Xenakis and, ten years later, as of 1995, by the introduction of spectral techniques into his compositions.
