Real name: Василий Родионович Петров (Vasily Rodionovich Petrov)
Vasili Petrov (1875–1937) was a Russian opera singer (bass), soloist at the Bolshoi Theatre (1902–37), People's Artist of the RSFSR (1933). He graduated from the Moscow Conservatory in 1902. Petrov had been performing with Feodor Chaliapin, Antonina Nezhdanova and other notable singers. His grandson Nikolai Petrov (1943–2011) was a famous pianist.
