Diana Vranousi was born in Paris. She studied piano and higher theory at the Athens Conservatory with a scholarship. Graduated at 19 years of age with a piano diploma (A prize outstanding), a degree in harmony (excellence and distinction) and a diploma in counter and fugue (excellent prize). After a competition, she won a scholarship from the Academy of Athens for six years of studying piano in Paris. There she studied at the Ecole Normale de Musique, where she graduated with a License de Concert. In Paris she also studied for three years with Pierre Sancan as well as with Yvonne Loriod works of the contemporary piano repertoire and mainly works by Olivier Messiaen.
