Learned guitar from his dad, Thomas Cannaday, Sr. Moved to Chicago, Illinois, USA and then to Detroit, Michigan, USA. He performed around Detroit at extended gigs at joints like the Apex Lounge, the Parrot Lounge, the State Fair Lounge, Cooley’s Bar, the Black & Tan, the Soup Kitchen, etc. He lived on the east side of Detroit & had two wives & six children. David Ruffin of the Temptations got his start singing with Little Junior Cannady at the Black & Tan club.
