Long Island, NY's The Rescue was formed in the summer of 2003 and brought a melodic style of hardcore with emo tendencies to their first EP, "We Dig Our Own Graves", a year later. After signing a deal with United Edge Records, the group (featuring vocalist Mike Assip, guitarists Joe Meier and Tom Colello, bassist Will Zucconi, and drummer Shane Curry) released a second EP entitled "Phone Numbers" in 2004.

Not to be confused with the Detroit, Michigan hardcore band Rescue (6).
