Lal was founded in Istanbul by Hilal Gür and Celal Babadağ in 2011, and the group took its final form in 2013 with the participation of Hazar Kayaaltı, Gönenç Kayaaltı and Barışcan Şenergin. The group gets its name from the second syllable of its founders' names, in addition it means red precious stone. It was immediately adopted by the group members with its enchanting spell. The first album work of the group, which has been sharing its tracks on various social media platforms with its unique rock sound since its establishment, is Yeni Hayat. It consists of 11 Lal pieces and one Mazhar Alanson piece. The lyrics of all the Lal tracks in the album belong to Hilal Gür and music to Celal Babadağ, and the arrangements are prepared by the group in the studio. They complete album recordings in Balyoz Müzik Production Studios. Mixing is done by Aki Sihvonen, and mastering by Mika Jussila at at Finnvox Studios.
