New Zealand singer Leah Ratana-Clubb (1943 - 2008) was one of Rotorua’s ‘‘golden voices’’. Encouraged to sing from an early age, Leah recorded her first song, Pania of the Reef, by the age of 13. At the age of 15 Leah married George Ratana (also known as Gus Ratana) who was also a singer. Leah was often a featured vocalist with Gus' group The Amorangi Boys Of Rotorua.
