The Five J's were a vocal quintet from Detroit, Michigan. Consisting of members Alonzo Johnson, Alphonso Johnson, Willie Johnson, "Major," and "Bra".
In their short-lived career, they released a single titled "My Darling" backed with "Calypso Jump" on Fulton Records (2454).
In addition to their work as The Five J's, the group also recorded under the name Johnson Bros. They released a single on Fulton Records (2455) featuring "Sleep With A Dream" and "Happy Rock & Roll.". They also backed up singer Cornell Blakely on his songs "Don't Touch The Moon" and "Promise To Be True."
While further details about the group are scarce, their contribution to the vocal group tradition remains notable, unfortunately all members have passed on.
